FIRST LEGO League Introduction

Go full STEAM ahead and sign up for a virtual meeting about forming a 2024 FIRST LEGO League team.

The theme is “Arts” and Daisies to Cadettes interested in STEM/STEAM will find participating in this event an unforgettable adventure. For others, it’s an exhilarating introduction to engineering and technical principles and potential.

The FIRST LEGO Leagues offer hands-on girl-centered learning. Girl Scouts learn the basics of STEM and apply those lessons in exciting competitions while building confidence and teamwork skills throughout the league season.

GSSEM is hosting multiple virtual introduction meetings for volunteers during October and November! This is a good opportunity to learn about this national program. We hope to see you there!

DID YOU KNOW?
In 2023- 140 GSSEM Girl Scouts competed in FIRST LEGO League events, focusing on energy storage and use.

The GSSEM 2023 FFLC teams built and coded a robot capable of autonomously completing energy-themed tasks on FIRST’s game board.

In 2022- GSSEM formed 25 FLLE teams, serving 101 girls (grades K-3) living throughout Southeastern Michigan. Teams created projects focused on this year’s theme of “Cargo Connect.”

The Girltastic FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) Team earned 3rd place Think Award at the Michigan State Championships in 2022.

Previous team names include GearGirls, Blockstars, Browning Bots, Mad Masterminds, Space Scouts, Galactic Golden Girls, The Cookie Crushers, EV3 Girls, RoboGirlz and The Xtreme S.T.E.A.M Team.
