Volunteer Spotlight: Sarah Wagner

Everyone meet Sarah Wagner, an amazing troop leader from Service Unit 0503. Wanting to give her daughter a positive Girl Scout experience, she stepped up to the plate and her troop has been flourishing ever since!

Sarah may not have been a Girl Scout growing up, but she’s proven to be the ultimate Girl Scout troop leader for Troop 77570. After watching her first daughter grow through Girl Scouts, she decided to become a troop leader so that her youngest daughter could have the same wonderful experience. Since then, it’s been nothing but fun and adventure for this troop!

Sarah says right now, her troop’s goal is earn enough money next Cookie Season to be able send every girl to camp. In the meantime, however, they will continue to focus on developing into leaders and making positive change in their communities. In fact, when asked about what her favorite memory as a volunteer, Sarah had this to say:

“I had a group of girls come up to me at one of our meetings and tell me with such pride how they picked up garbage from the school playground at recess. They hadn’t been asked or told to do it but just did it on their own because that’s what Girl Scouts do.”

Thank you, Sarah, for being such a great leader and role model!
