Fall Back Into Camp

It’s time to “fall” back in love with Camp Hawthorn Hollow (CHH) this season! CHH is open for adventures for you and you troop, including Troop Camping, Family Camping, and the brand new Camp STEM events.

While at camp, girls will learn how STEM and the outdoors are related as they engage fun and STEM-driven activities and workshops. Camp STEM is open to all girls and will follow all state-mandated safety orders.

Camp STEM: The Science of Camp
October 4, 2020 • 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Get ready to have traditional camp experiences that’ll make camp feel brand new! Camp is filled with beautiful things you can’t see with your naked eye; you’ll be able to use a microscope to see what you’re missing. You’ll also learn more about the animals that can be found in or around camp—and go even deeper and learn a bit about DNA. Join us for the STEM event where the E stands for “Environmental!”

Cost: $15.00 per person (includes a patch)

Camp STEM: Spooky Science
October 18, 2020 • 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Prepare for a spooky-themed time at camp! Practical and fun applications of chemistry will bring out your inner mad scientist. Then, you can try your hand at building a bridge to see what being an architect is like. Join us for the STEM event where the S stands for “Spooky!”

Cost: $15.00 per person (includes a patch)

Camp STEM: Innovations of the Past
November 8, 2020 • 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM

The innovations of the past created the groundwork for the science we see today. At this STEM event, you’ll explore the science of bows and arrows, build some classic machines, and learn about the forces of nature and the ways humans have learned to overcome them. Join us for the STEM event where the M stands for “Medieval!”

Cost: $15.00 per person (includes a patch)
