Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan’s Gift Supports GEP Girl Scouts

GSSEM greatly appreciates the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan (CFSEM) for their generous gift!

GSSEM’s Girl Empowerment Program (GEP) brings girls a full Girl Scout experience during regular school hours in areas where it’s challenging to form traditional, volunteer-led troops.

Because of CFSEM’s generosity, 2,604 GEP Girl Scouts in Detroit, Pontiac, and Downriver learned vital leadership skills over the past year. The number of GEP girls served in those communities also increased by 30 percent!

GSSEM staff mentored GEP girls as they participated in leadership opportunities focused on STEM, outdoor education, life skills, and entrepreneurship.

Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.
