GSSEM Programs is excited to introduce our new Badge in a Box program! As the country slowly shuts back down, GSSEM is finding new and innovative ways to keep girls engaged.
With the new Badge in a Box program, girls will still be able to earn badges and enjoy all that Girl Scouts has to offer. With these all-inclusive kits, girls receive everything needed to complete a badge, including access to worksheets, videos, and websites through an interactive Google Classroom. Check out the available boxes below!
Daisy:
Journey: Between Earth and Sky
In this Journey for K – 1 Girl Scouts, Daisies join their flower friends for an exciting road trip in a flower-powered car! As they travel the country, living the values of the Girl Scout Law, girls will discover what’s great about nature and learn skills to make the world a better place.
Brownie:
Badge: Leap Bot Design Challenge
Brownies learn the basic physics of springs through this fun, hands-on design challenge! Girls will create their own Leap Bot from a wooden spool, design a way to test its performance, and make improvements—just like real mechanical engineers. This kit includes everything Brownies need to design, build, and test their Leap Bot.
Badge: Making Games
Brownies learn what makes a game great and then create their own! Girls will analyze their favorite games to determine why they’re fun; then, they’ll design and create their own board game—even card and outdoor games! This kit includes everything Brownies need to create their own board game, as well as supplies for card and outdoor games.
Junior:
Badge: Business Jumpstart
Juniors explore entrepreneurship and learn how to start their own business! After observing the world around them and identifying an existing problem, girls will design a prototype product that could help fix that particular problem. They’ll ask potential consumers for feedback on their prototype and make revisions accordingly. Then, they’ll create a business pitch to market their product. This kit includes everything Juniors need as a budding entrepreneur.
Badge: Scribe
Juniors discover how words influence our day-to-day lives! Girls will express themselves on paper by writing nonfiction stories, fiction stories, or article headlines. This kit includes everything Juniors need to become a great scribe.
Cadette:
Badge: Woodworker
Cadettes build their very own trebuchet while learning the basics of woodworking and physics! Designed by Girltastic, GSSEM’s FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) team, this kit includes everything Cadettes need to build a trebuchet.*
Badge in a Boxes are available for pick-up at GSSEM Service Centers monthly, following safety protocols as outlined by the State of Michigan.
