Volunteer Spotlight: Jean Perczak

Jean Perczak is the phenomenal troop leader behind Troop 76072. Like so many other Girl Scout volunteers, she decided to be a troop leader to share this experience with her daughter. So far it’s been five years, with a lifetime of memories to go.

Jean says that being a Girl Scout troop leader was a great opportunity for her and her daughter to learn new things and grow together. Over the past five years, she’s made so many new friends—not just the girls but their parents and grandparents, other troop leaders, school principals and teachers! As she puts it “they are my community!”

Currently, the troop’s goal is to be successful in being a multi-level troop where they all work together, learn new things and make amazing memories. It seems this troop has quite the bond, and is super appreciate of their leader! One day, Jean needed to drop something off at my daughter’s school and while walking through the hallway, she immediately had eight girls squealing her name and hugging her. What an amazing connection!

For any current or future troop leaders, Jean has this to say:

“Trust in yourself! Trust in your community! These girls are thirsty for knowledge and experiences that you can give them.”
