2025 Honors Awards

2025 Honors Awards

Each year, Girl Scouts of Southeastern Michigan recognizes the hard work, dedication and determination of Girl Scouts who earned their Gold, Silver or Bronze Award.

The young women who earn a highest award spent many hours researching, connecting, raising funds and working hard to make their idea for positive change become reality.

As Cyekeia Lee, executive director Detroit College Access Network and the keynote speaker said, “The awards you receive today are more than recognition-they’re reminders of the lives you’ve touched and the difference you’ve made.”

This year, GSSEM is thrilled to present 187 Bronze Awards, 37 Silver Awards and 13 Gold Awards in the John Lewis Conference Center on Macomb Community College south campus. A sperate Bronze honors award event is scheduled.

Girl Scouts taking action

The Highest Awards path is a great track for any Girl Scout to set out on. Girls learn responsibility, leadership skills and confidence that will stay with them throughout their life.

To earn a Highest Award of any level, a Girl Scout needs to complete a Take Action project.

To qualify as a Take Action project, the project must create a lasting, measurable impact and include ways to ensure sustainability long after her involvement and the initial project has ended.

Take Action projects can range from creating a rain garden at a local elementary school to developing a database coordinating national canine blood banks, like our 2025 Young Woman of Distinction Emma Beach.
